HTI Visiting Attachment Programme
Information & Application
The Department of Health Technology and Informatics (HTI) values engagement with all external parties, including students, professionals from other organisations, and institutional partners. To respond effectively to growing training demands from these diverse sources and to fulfil HTI’s drive to nurture young talent, the department has introduced the Visiting Attachment Programme.
Details of the Programme are set out below.
Programme Details
1. Eligibility
The Programme is open to current students (at bachelor’s level or above), graduates holding a bachelor’s degree or above, hospital staff, faculty from academic institutions, and industry professionals.
2. Duration
The duration of attachment may range from less than one month up to a maximum of 12 months.
3. Fee Calculation
Fees are calculated on a monthly basis, and any period of less than one month will be counted as one full month.

5. Certificate
A certificate of completion will be issued to the visitor upon successful completion of the attachment and submission of a report by the hosting academic staff on the visitor’s activities and engagement.
6. How to Apply
Interested individuals should first complete an online form providing their personal particulars, research interests, and intended supervisors (if any). They may refer to the HTI website for details on our faculty members and their research areas. Once the application is submitted, the HTI Office will liaise with the appropriate academic staff to determine supervision capacity and will advise the applicant accordingly.

Important Notes
- Visa: Non-local visitors are responsible for arranging their own visa for travel to and stay in Hong Kong.
- Insurance: All visitors are strongly advised to purchase their own medical and personal accident insurance to cover the entire attachment period.
- Code of Conduct: Visitors must comply with departmental policies, including health and safety regulations and confidentiality requirements.
- Facilities Access: Visitors will be granted access to departmental facilities and equipment as deemed appropriate by the hosting academic staff. Access may be restricted for certain high-risk or sensitive areas.
- Fees Payment: All fees must be paid in full in advance of the attachment period, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the department.
- Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the start date will incur a cancellation fee of HKD 5,000. No refund will be issued after the attachment has commenced.
