Chemical Safety
Course objectives:
This course aims at introducing chemical safety management for laboratory supervisors and equipping chemical users with better knowledge on chemical safety practices so that they can manage hazardous chemicals in good order and work safely in the laboratory respectively.
Target group(s):
All chemical laboratory supervisors and registered chemical users who work with chemicals frequently.

This course aims at introducing the concept of Health and Safety Management Framework of PolyU and facilitating the discharge of duties of DHSO with support from Health and Safety Office.
Target group(s):
Current DHSOs or all interested PolyU staff members who work with DHSOs

Biological Safety
Course objectives:
This course aims at introducing biological safety management for laboratory supervisors and equipping users of biological agents with better knowledge on biological safety practices so that they can manage biohazardous agents in good order and work safely in the laboratory respectively.
Target group(s):
All biological laboratory users who work with microorganisms or other biohazardous materials.

Radiation Safety (Irradiating Apparatus and Radioactive Substances)
Course objectives:
To equip attendees with basic radiation safety knowledge to meet the pre-requisite for application of registration as a user of irradiating apparatus in PolyU.
Target group(s):
Potential users of closed-beam X-ray equipment.
All users of irradiating apparatus (closed-beam x-ray) must register with HSO before they are allowed to operate irradiating apparatus in PolyU. Only users who have completed proper safety training are eligible to apply for the registration. Attendees of this training are considered to have met the training requirements.

Laser Safety
Course objectives:
The course aims to provide basic safety training for personnel working with or intended to work with laser equipment.
Target group(s):
Potential users of high-power (class 3B or 4) laser equipment.
Users of high-power laser equipment must have received proper laser safety training before they are authorized by their
corresponding departments to operate high power laser equipment. Attendees of this course are considered to have
fulfilled this requirement.

Assessing Risk of your Workplace
Course objectives:
This course equips attendees with hazard identification and risk assessment skills so as to facilitate effective health and safety risk management in the workplace.
Target:
Personnel who are responsible for assessing workplace risks should take this training. Other personnel who are interested are also welcome.
