AED Hunt is ON: Connecting Our Campus Through Lifesaving Awareness

We - Connect

AED

To strengthen campus‑wide awareness of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and promote hands‑on learning in a fun and engaging way, HSO launched “AED Hunt is ON”, an interactive campus game designed for both staff and students.

Held from 19 March to 2 April 2026, the activity invited participants to explore the campus, locate AED stations, and share their discoveries on social media. Over the two-week period, the game attracted enthusiastic participation across the PolyU community, reflecting a strong shared interest in practical health and safety initiatives.

Learning Through Participation

Beyond the excitement of the hunt, the activity delivered a vital message: knowing exactly where to find an AED can save lives.

Participants were required to identify actual AED locations across campus, reinforcing their familiarity with their environment and building confidence needed to respond to real emergencies.

Extending Learning Beyond the Game

Participants shared positive feedback on the game design and overall learning experience, appreciating the balance between enjoyment and practical value.

To further enhance this learning, the AED Hunt was complemented by short educational posts demonstrating:

  • How to quickly locate AEDs on campus, and
  • How to use AEDs effectively in emergency situations.

These resources continue to serve as handy references for the PolyU community:

Building a Safer, More Connected Campus

“AED Hunt is ON” illustrates how creative engagement can bring students and staff together while strengthening essential safety knowledge. By turning awareness into action, the activity helped build a more prepared, confident, and connected campus community.

We look forward to organizing more interactive initiatives that promote shared responsibility for health and safety—and empower every member of PolyU to make a difference when it matters most.
