The Health, Safety and Environment Office will arrange one safety course in January 2013 as follows:

3.Conducting Safety Inspection (Ir Nelson Chan)

5.Response to accident; human error and accident investigation (Mr Y K Kam)

Course objectives:
The University Health and Safety Policy stipulates that Departmental Health and Safety Officer (DHSO) should be appointed by Head of Department to assist him/her in ensuring high standards of health and safety in their departments and the DHSOs should be suitably trained.
Every year, HSEO organizes training courses for DHSOs and supervisors who have specific health and safety responsibilities so that they can carry out their duties effectively.

Target group(s):
All untrained DHSOs and those who may take up health and safety duties within their department are required to attend.
Remarks: A 10-15 minutes test will be given at the end of each session and HSEO will issue certificate to those participants who have attended all 5 sessions and passed all the tests.
