The University has issued the “Guideline on Fire Wardens of Departments and Offices” to appoint and train Fire Wardens so that they can help to achieve fast and complete evacuation upon hearing a fire alarm.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
Upon hearing a fire alarm, a Fire Warden should:
- Leave his / her workplace immediately.
- Alert people to leave their workplace and the affected building using fire exits or staircases.
- Stay at the assigned fire assembly point.
- Report abnormal situations, if any, to the incident in-charge or the firefighter in charge of the operation.
