Date: 8 November 2010

As one of the major events of the PolyU Environmental Week 2010, an environmental talk will be held with details as follows:

Date: 10 November 2010 (Wednesday)
Time: 13:00 to 14:00
Venue: Lecture Theatre FJ302
Topic: Tree Conservation in Hong Kong
Speaker: Mr So Kwok Yin (Chief Executive of the Conservancy Association, ISA Certified Arborist, Certified Tree Worker and Municipal Specialist)

Abstract: As seen from the increasing number of media reports on urban trees in recent years, there has been enormous public concern on the problems and accidents related to urban trees. Trees are an essential element in our society, and help in providing a high-quality living environment. However, a general lack of knowledge and of expertise in arboriculture could shorten the lifespan of trees or even lead to fatal tree accidents. In this connection, development of a deeper understanding of trees in different levels of the society is crucial for future tree management and conservation.

You are most welcome to attend this talk. Prior registration is not required and seats are offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
