Chan Tak-keung 陳德强

I am currently pursuing a PhD in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at PolyU, focusing on marine ecology and sustainable seafood. I am honoured that my work has received recognition through international awards. These affirmations have strengthened my belief that research is not only about the pursuit of knowledge, but also about addressing real-world challenges.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prof. James Fang for his guidance and inspiration. He encouraged me to step beyond academia by founding a tech start-up and a non-profit organisation, enabling me to promote marine technology, conservation, and fisheries knowledge across diverse sectors, including multinational corporations, the HKSAR government, overseas universities, local schools, elderly homes, and students with special educational needs (SEN).

I am also grateful to Marine Ecology and Aquaculture Laboratory (MEAL) and the Industrial Centre for their support. This journey has taught me that while changing the world may seem ambitious, through dedicated research and meaningful action, we can make a difference.

我目前於理大食品科學及營養學系攻讀博士學位，研究方向為海洋生態及可持續海產，並有幸在多個國際獎項中獲獎。這些成果讓我更加確信，科研不僅是知識的探索，更能回應現實世界的需要。

衷心感謝方家熙教授在研究上的悉心指導與啟發。他鼓勵我走出學術框架，成立創科公司及非牟利組織，讓我得以在不同層面推廣海洋科技、生態保育及漁業知識，服務對象涵蓋跨國企業、政府部門、海外大學、本地中小學、安老院舍及有特殊教育需要的學生。

我亦感謝海洋生態及水產養殖實驗室及工業中心一直以來的支持，讓我能在研究路上與不同夥伴交流學習。這段旅程讓我深刻體會到，改變世界或許看似遙遠，但透過持續的科研與實踐，我們確實可以讓世界變得更美好。
