Multifarious Activities Held by Self-learning Unit of Chinese Language Centre

Events

With a commitment to delivering high-quality Chinese language learning and supporting students through a diverse range of activities and workshops, the Self-learning Unit (SLU) of the Chinese Language Centre (CLC) has successfully hosted a variety of events in the second half of 2023. The SLU has been a hub of activity, hosting different workshops, seminars, classes and an inspiring teaching sharing for our teachers and students. The topics included, but not limited to, classical Chinese literature, modern Chinese literature, Cantonese acquisition as well as Putonghua testing skills.

Highlights included the thought-provoking lecture: "Is it genuine or just a façade? Poetic works of traditional Chinese literati mourning their deceased wives", and the workshop "Revisit Sinophone Malaysian Literature: On Li Zi-Shu’s novels" were successfully delivered with very profound feedback. The "Introductory Workshop on Cantonese Pronunciation" and "Getting Started with Chinese Grammar" classes effectively enhanced students’ Chinese grammar. The seminar on the "Introduction of PSC, PSK and ePTH", the "Workshop on the examination skills for Putonghua Proficiency Test (PSC)" and the "Sharing Session of PSC Examiner III" provided valuable insights for students and teachers.

These activities were hosted by our experienced teachers from the (CLC). The response was overwhelming, with most events reaching full capacity on the first day of the promotion period. Most participants enjoyed their fruitful learning journey.
