Messages from Students

Although I’m only a first-year student, my PolyU education has already been meaningful and practical. The FB Bachelor’s Degree Scheme in Business Administration gives students the flexibility to explore different subjects and careers before choosing a major. This has helped me better understand my own skills and passions, and how to use them to build a fulfilling career. The programme also emphasises innovation and adaptability in a constantly evolving business environment. Finally, being a PolyU FB student has helped me secure internships where I can develop new skills and apply what I’ve learned in class.

When I entered university, I hadn’t yet explored different business fields deeply enough to choose where to specialise. That’s why I selected the Business Administration Programme at PolyU — a programme that lets students explore different disciplines before making an informed choice. Through practical exposure to accounting, marketing, logistics and management, I gained insight into real career paths and discovered my strengths. As an international student, I especially valued learning from industry professionals and collaborating on projects, experiences that helped me adapt quickly and grow both academically and personally.

Why choose Business Administration at PolyU? At first, I worried the programme might be too broad, but I quickly realised it equips students with a holistic business mindset. We learn marketing strategies to understand customer needs, financial analysis to assess the health of companies, and organisational behaviour to lead teams. The courses also strengthen teamwork, problem solving, and decision making skills.

Beyond academic study, PolyU offers a vibrant campus life with societies, professional lectures, and opportunities to join a wide range of activities. With supportive teachers and a welcoming environment, the Faculty of Business is more than a place to learn — it’s a platform for becoming the person you aspire to be.

It’s a strange and wonderful feeling when a long-held dream becomes not just a distant hope, but a path you’re actively walking. I dreamed of being at the centre of the business world, but when I joined PolyU as a Business Administration student, I didn't expect to be immersed in real-world experiences from day one.

PolyU has successfully pushed me to step beyond my comfort zone. But that experience isn’t only about navigating setbacks, it’s about discovering my own strengths and limits. Meeting peers from different majors and professors who encourage us to speak up changed my perspective — I began to see problems as challenges rather than mistakes.

I chose PolyU's Business Administration Programme to discover where my strengths and passions truly lie. The curriculum allows undergraduates to explore different disciplines before committing to a major. In my first year, I had many opportunities to engage with logistics, economics, and finance — giving me a clearer idea of how I want to develop my career. In this dynamic environment, I’ve also learned from peers who bring diverse perspectives to our discussions and projects. The programme has been truly beneficial for my personal growth and for building a strong foundation for my career.

In high school, I discovered my passion for solving problems and working with people. Choosing Business Administration at PolyU has been one of my best decisions, as it lets me continue developing these skills while keeping my career options open. The programme’s flexibility means I can later choose a specialisation: in Accounting and Finance, Marketing Management, or Logistics and Supply Chain Management. This flexibility is a huge advantage, and with approachable professors and a supportive environment, I feel well supported academically.

Campus life has been equally rewarding, with diverse classmates, collaborative projects, and cultural events that enrich my personal growth. PolyU has given me the opportunity to grow both academically and personally.
