Remarks:

1. Students who receive this sponsorship are not allowed to apply for or receive the HKSAR Government Subsidy and other PolyU funding support for the same activity.
2. Students are required to submit an expense budget for FB approval at least eight weeks before the start of the programme.

2. Full Sponsorship for Student Exchange

Full sponsorship to participate in the Student Exchange Programme for a semester at a university overseas or on the Chinese mainland.

3. Sponsorship for International Symposium and Summit

Sponsorship to attend the University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) and Global Peace Summit organized by Humanitarian Affairs Asia.

How to enrol?

JUPAS students

• JUPAS students admitted to any FB undergraduate scheme with a total score* of 32 or above in their best 5 HKDSE subjects in the current year are automatically admitted to the IDEAS Emerging Scholars Scheme. No interview is needed.
• Selected JUPAS students admitted to any FB undergraduate scheme with a total score* below 32 in their best 5 HKDSE subjects in the current year will be invited for an interview for possible admission to the IDEAS Emerging Scholars Scheme.

Non-JUPAS and other students

• Selected non-JUPAS and other students will be invited for an interview for possible admission to the IDEAS Emerging Scholars Scheme.

* HKDSE level attainments are converted to score points where Level 5**=8.5, 5*=7, 5=5.5, 4=4, 3=3, 2=2, 1=1 and Unclassified=0

2. Participation in the Student Exchange Programme is subject to the nomination by FB/GEO and admission granted by the host institution.
3. FB reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the IDEAS Emerging Scholars Scheme without prior notice. In case of any dispute/disagreement, FB has the final decision.
