Mr Wong is a renowned Certified Public Accountant (CPA), tax advisor, and business consultant in Hong Kong. Since graduating from PolyU in 1982, he has been dedicated to providing a wide range of professional accounting, auditing, tax advisory, and business consulting services.

In 1989, Mr Wong started his firm and practice as a CPA (Practising), helping businesses, SMEs, NGOs, universities, and student societies grow their activities in a sustainable way. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in professional accounting bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). In 1999, he became Chairman of the Hong Kong branch of ACCA, who he represented at many regional and global events.

Mr Wong’s professional experience, reputation, and expertise have been widely recognised by industry practitioners. He has served on multiple ACCA and HKICPA committees to support the ongoing development of the accounting industry.

Since early in his career, Mr Wong has also contributed his time and professional knowledge to volunteer work for a number of NGOs and charitable organisations. Notably, he has served for over 15 years as Honorary Treasurer of the China Candlelight Educational Fund, which has supported the building or reconstruction of over 500 schools in Mainland China in the past 20 years.

Mr Wong’s leadership in the accounting profession has also been recognised by the HKSAR Government. He has been invited to contribute his expertise to a number of governmental organisations such as the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) Users’ Committee, where he monitored the IRD’s efforts to meet its performance pledge, and advised it how to improve its public services. He has also been a mentor in the Trade and Industry Department’s Support and Consultation Centre for Small and Medium Enterprises (SUCCESS) programme, educating start-up businesses in financial management.

Mr Wong is a PolyU Council Member and has served on a number of committees. He is particularly active in alumni affairs and has served in the Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Association (4+ years as President and 20+ years as Director), and in the Accounting and Finance Graduates Association (5+ years as President and 20+ years as Director).

Mr Wong is also known as a staunch supporter of university-wide initiatives. He has made generous contributions towards mentoring students and improving the University’s facilities.
