Participating in the UBC Vancouver Summer Exchange Programme was an incredible experience. Beyond the world-class academic environment, I was constantly inspired by the city’s stunning natural surroundings—the mountains, the ocean, and Stanley Park, a vast urban green space right on the city’s doorstep. Sharing this adventure with friends from diverse countries and cultures broadened my perspective immensely.

What truly stood out was witnessing and participating in Vancouver’s deep commitment to living in harmony with nature, evident in its sustainable practices and accessible outdoor lifestyle. It felt like being part of a vibrant, international community perfectly integrated with its environment.

During the ESSCA Summer School in Budapest, I not only gained valuable knowledge but also made friends with people from around the world. It was an experience that I’ll always treasure.

Both the courses I chose— Economic and Business Opportunities Between Europe and Asia and Human Centered Management and Leadership—were interactive, encouraging everyone to share cultural perspectives and take part in hands-on activities. I found both the teaching and the group activities enriching and engaging.

Outside the classroom, I spent time exploring the city. Budapest is full of striking architecture and scenic views. As a photography enthusiast, I captured many memorable moments, from walking along the River Danube to watching the sunset from Fisherman's Bastion with friends. Whether wandering the city alone or experiencing local customs with others, I felt immersed in Budapest’s vibrant culture.

Based in France, the ESSCA School of Management is a well-regarded university with six campuses across Europe and Asia. By attending the Paris Summer Programme 2 (PSP 2), held on the Paris campus over approximately three weeks, I had the opportunity to experience different cultures, teaching styles, and ways of living.

The most impressive course was Intercultural Communication, where I made friends with classmates from the US, Australia, Austria, and other countries. Through these interactions, I learned how to recognise cultural differences, respect them, and respond appropriately—an invaluable skill, especially in a multinational workplace.

Beyond the classroom, I was encouraged to explore Paris’s rich history, architecture, politics, and renowned gastronomy, as well as its leisurely lifestyle. These experiences made the programme one of the most rewarding and unforgettable chapters of my life.

Life in Leeds was an unforgettable experience. The summer weather was pleasant, with plenty of sunshine and a refreshing breeze. Long daytimes and mild temperatures made it easy to enjoy each day to the fullest—whether studying or exploring the city.

The Leeds International Summer School (LISS) offered a well-balanced schedule, with class time in the morning and a variety of social activities in the afternoon and evening. Weekdays included field trips, while weekends featured excursions to cities such as York, Whitby, and Liverpool. These outings gave students the chance to experience the country’s long history and beautiful scenery, all while learning practical knowledge. The LISS assistants were always on hand to support us, ensuring that every journey was safe and pleasant.

Participating in the three-week summer school programme at Ljubljana University was an unforgettable and enriching experience. In class, group discussions and role-playing were the norm, and the intense collision of ideas from different cultural backgrounds gave me a whole new understanding of my field of study.

After class, we explored the charming scenery of Slovenia together—from ancient castles to the tranquil waters of Lake Bled. I formed friendships with people from all over the world. These cross-cultural connections not only broadened my horizons but also taught me to understand and embrace different cultural norms.

Spending my summer at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) was both eye-opening and unforgettable. I enrolled in Organization: Team Dynamics in Multinational Corporations as well as Business and Government. The professors were both knowledgeable and approachable, always encouraging open discussions and fresh perspectives. The classroom atmosphere was dynamic and engaging, and I truly enjoyed exchanging ideas with classmates from such diverse backgrounds. In one class, I was the only Asian student —a culture shock at first, but it quickly became a valuable opportunity to share my own culture and learn from others in return.

Copenhagen itself is a stunning, safe and modern city. CBS is located right in the heart of the city, which made exploring after class a delight. From world-class museums, castles and gardens to vibrant food experiences, there was so much to discover. The school and student community also organised a wide range of activities, from traditional Danish dance nights to lively parties, making it easy to connect with people from all over the world. With the added convenience of travelling to nearby European cities, this summer turned out to be not only academically enriching but also one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

Leeds International Summer School gave me a unique July taste of studying in the UK. From the all-English environment, endless baked beans and potatoes, to the charming old British buildings and sunny-but-never-hot weather, every detail became a vivid and lasting memory.

The coursework was well-paced, with one class each morning and many lessons incorporating short field trips. In my second module on Entrepreneurship, for example, we visited an underground mine to experience how workers lived and worked there a hundred years ago.

Outside of class, I joined a variety of activities organised by the University of Leeds, including themed social events and day trips to nearby places such as York. The university arranged everything with care, from venues to transport. I also enjoyed preparing delicious Chinese meals with friends to share familiar flavours and satisfy our taste buds. Beyond the Leeds area, I found time to travel around England, exploring the industrial heritage of Manchester and walking along the River Thames in London to feel the enduring charm of British history. This one-month journey was a memorable way to conclude my master’s degree.

At the University of Ljubljana, I discovered a world of enriching academic experiences and stunning natural beauty. Engaging courses with global peers fostered intimate, interactive learning, while our charismatic professor brought a unique blend of humour and cultural depth to the classroom. Slovenia's breathtaking landscapes, from serene lakes to lush mountains, were the perfect weekend escape, offering a picturesque backdrop to our studies. This immersive journey is an invitation to anyone yearning for a study-abroad programme that transcends the classroom, blending knowledge, culture, and nature into an unforgettable experience.

The University of British Columbia is known for its research excellence, diverse academic programmes, and its stunning campus in Vancouver. The Vancouver Summer Program lets you experience a different culture and teaching style at the Sauder School of Business.

My courses in International Business and International Marketing were practical, and the teaching approach was distinct from Hong Kong. I enjoyed the polite, friendly, and relaxed North American lifestyle and made friends from all over the world.

I used my free time to visit the Columbia Icefield, Banff National Park, and Niagara Falls with friends. Canada's natural landscapes are magnificent.

I was incredibly fortunate to attend the summer school at the University of British Columbia. I took courses in International Business and International Marketing to broaden my understanding of global business strategies and market dynamics. Over the three weeks of the programme, the school organised insightful lectures, field trips, and a variety of evening activities.

In addition to the academic experience, my classmates and I also travelled to Calgary, Toronto, and Quebec. The scenery in these places was breathtakingly beautiful. This experience was truly invaluable, providing me with the opportunity to not only expand my knowledge but also to meet people from all over the world from diverse backgrounds.

Attending the Vancouver Summer Program (VSP) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) was a marvellous and unforgettable experience for me. During the programme, I got to know people from all over the world. Over the four weeks of studies at UBC, I joined many activities organised by the VSP volunteers. There are so many squirrels living on the UBC campus, so don’t forget to say hello when you see them on your way to class! Getting to know and experience so many cultural differences was even more rewarding than what I learned in class. Cultural differences are fun because they’re so new and hard to learn about just from the internet or books . You really need to experience them firsthand.

I was incredibly lucky to study at the summer school of the University of Ljubljana. I did Investment Management and Portfolio Management, and Managing Family Business to expand my knowledge of portfolio diversification and the trend of family business.

There were insightful lectures, field trip and activities held by the school in the evening over the three weeks of the course. My classmates and I also travelled around Europe, in Hungary, Croatia and Germany. That was a precious experience and great chance for me to get to know people from all over the world and different backgrounds.
