Ng Tat Lun Digital Factory

SKL_2050x500

Funded by the Special Project Provision of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and support of Microsoft (HK) Ltd. and five other leading CAD/CAM software development companies, NTL Digital Factory was established in the Department to support the teaching and research in digital design and manufacturing. The technology backbone of the Digital Factory provides an interactive, flexible and graphic-based discrete event simulation environment to model, develop, experiment, analyze and optimize design and manufacturing processes in a digital environment prior to production. This laboratory is well equipped with software tools and hardware about rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, tool design and process planning.

Apart from teaching, student learning and research activities, the NTL Digital Factory is also available to industry for use through seminars, workshops and consultancies.
