WEEE · PARK is a state-of-the-art facility designed to treat 30,000 tonnes of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) every year. Its mission is to turn waste into resources by dismantling old electronics and recovering valuable raw materials like Steel, Copper, Aluminum, and Plastics, while safely disposing of hazardous toxins.
WEEE · PARK consists of 5 zones, including Exhibition Corridor, Unloading Bay, Buffer Storage, Processing Hall and Dashboard Area. Equipped with interesting visual design, interactive games and animation demonstrating the importance and impact of disposal of WEEE to the environment and human health, visitor can witness the operations of the facility through designated viewing gallery in WEEE · PARK to understand the recycling and treatment processes of WEEE, as well as the importance of turning waste into resources.
On 28 March 2026, we had a technical visit to WEEE‧PARK with eleven attendance. We started our guided tour 10 minutes before our schedule. We were led to a room for an introduction.
WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. WEEE‧PARK is an electrical and electronic equipment waste treatment, recycling and education facility located on three hectare site inside EcoPark.
Equipment handling included washing machines, drying machines, air conditioners, dehumidifying machines, refrigerators, televisions, monitors, printers, computers, and scanners. A model was displayed to show the layout of the facility.
The collected equipement were put into a room for sorting and refurbishing. The refurbishment workshop is a place for dedicated electrical appliance repair and donation services. Through a series of repair, refurbishment and safey inspection processes transforming to functional electrical appliances to refurbished items. Though social workers arrangement, thoses refurbusihed items would be transported for donation to individuals or families in need.
We were then led to a WEEE Time Machine where we could see the old television, refrigerator and washing machine that were used sixty years ago. Some of us could still remember in olden days, television was a valuable equipment need to be locked.
Those equipment for disassembly were sent to processing hall for detoxify and dismantle with four advanced processing lines handling different types of equipment.
Line 1 – Refrigerator
Line 2 – Air conditioner and dehumidifier
Line 3 – Washing machine, tumber dryer, computer, printer and scanner
Line 4 – Processing flat screen TV and monitor
We could see the operation through the corridor window.
We had a group photo with souvenir presentation together with our participants.
There are two monitors showing 2,2228,000 kg of WEEE processed and had turned a total of 1,583,000 kg of iron, copper, aluminum, and plastic resources.
We ended our visit with fifty minutes overrun; everyone had a good experience of the visit.
