Our objectives
- To enhance students' communication skills so that they can pursue academic and professional excellence 1
- To foster students' independent, life-long English language learning and whole-person development 2
- To support the pursuit of English language excellence within the PolyU and in the wider Hong Kong community 3
We aim to achieve these objectives by
- Providing high quality English language subjects and other learning opportunities 4
- Developing and implementing effective quality assurance mechanisms, and reliable and valid English language assessment 5
- Supporting students in the development of effective strategies for independent, life-long learning 6
- Providing a range of non-formal, student-centred activities with an English language focus 7
- Advancing knowledge of language learning and teaching through research and scholarly activity 8
- Establishing strong connections with the professions, other tertiary institutions and the school sector 9
- Providing a stimulating and fulfilling workplace that respects cultural and individual diversity 10
