PhD student SHI Yihuan from EEE has achieved remarkable success on the international stage, securing top poster awards at two major conferences in late 2025.
In October, Yihuan received the Best Poster Award at the 33rd International Conference on High-Speed Imaging and Photonics (ICHSIP-33) in Shenzhen. His research, titled “High-Sensitivity Real-Time Multi-Gas Detection Using a 100 MHz Time-Stretch Swept-Wavelength Laser,” was recognized at this long-standing and highly influential global forum for experts in photonics and ultrafast technologies.
He followed this achievement in November with an Excellent Poster Award at the SPIE-CLP Conference on Advanced Photonics 2025 (AP2025) in Hong Kong. His work on “High Repetition Rate Mid-Infrared Femtosecond Fiber Lasers Based on Buffer Configuration” impressed the international gathering of leading photonics scientists and engineers convened by the highly selective journal Advanced Photonics.
Both achievements highlight the impactful and innovative research being conducted within EEE. Yihuan’s work was completed under the guidance of his supervisor, Professor HUANG Dongmei.
The department extends its warmest congratulations to Yihuan for this outstanding international recognition, which showcases the high calibre of our postgraduate research.
