Exchange Programme

Student Exchange Programme

Our students can apply for exchange studentship for up to 6 months in famous overseas universities. Sponsorship will be offered to a number of selected students to enable them to be attached to overseas universities for one semester as exchange students. Through this exchange experience, our students could learn and understand different cultures and gain a global perspective.

To foster students’ overseas exposure, a Student Exchange Programme is available for the Bachelor’s degree students. Students can take part in the exchange programme by studying in an overseas institution for one semester, usually during Year Two. Financial subsidies are available from the University and the Faculty of Engineering. Credits earned from the overseas institutions during the exchange can also be transferred to our own Bachelor’s degree programmes.

“Tampere University of Technology is well known for its leading position in communication engineering in Finland. I took two courses provide by the Department of Communications. These courses provided very good opportunities for me to catch a glimpse of the latest development of communication engineering.

For an exchange student, it is certain that study is not the only objective. Perhaps the most significant part is to experience the culture of a foreign country. During the spare time, I participated in many activities hosted by local students, including orientation week at the beginning of the semester, weekly get-togethers, treasure hunt in the forest and parties.

To sum up, I treasure this opportunity of taking part in the exchange programme. Not only have I broadened my horizon, but I also learned to improve my personality. I have spent the most exciting and memorable three months in the past twenty years. I believe the experience will benefit me a lot in the future.”
