EEE PhD student Mr. LIU Shangming has won the prestigious Best Oral Presentation Award (First Class) at the 13th Optical Fiber Sensors Conference in China (OFSC-2025). The conference, held in Wuhan from September 20 to 22, 2025, is recognized as China’s premier academic event in the field.
Mr. LIU’s paper and presentation, titled “High-sensitivity optical fiber-tip hydrogen sensor based on a serpentine-spring optomechanical microresonator,” were selected as the top presentation among numerous competitors. The award is the highest honour at the conference, with only one First-Class award being presented each year. This groundbreaking work is a result of a General Research Fund project led by his supervisor, Prof. ZHANG A-ping, with valuable contributions from Prof. JIN Wei.
This honour not only recognizes Mr. LIU's outstanding research work but also consolidates the university's influence in the field of optical fiber sensing.
