Biography
Prof. Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and holds a joint role in the Department of Land Surveying and Geospatial Science (LSGS). He received his Ph.D., M.Phil., and B.Eng. degrees from PolyU, Waseda University, and Sichuan University, respectively, all in computer science and AI. From 2021 to 2022, he did postdoctoral training at the University of Sydney, where he was also a visiting/exchange Ph.D. student from 2019 to 2020. He is generally interested in AI Efficiency and Edge-native AI, targeting learning, deployment, inference, adaptation, and beyond with constrained data and computing resources, as well as exploring applications across a wide spectrum. He is currently serving as Executive Editor-in-Chief for Edge Intelligence and Systems (EIS), serving as Action Editor for Transactions on Machine Learning Research (TMLR), serving as Associate Editor for Pattern Recognition (PR) and IEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society (OJ-CS), and serving as Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems (TCSS) and Springer Nature Complex & Intelligent Systems (CIS). He regularly serves as Area Chair for prestigious venues such as ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, ACM-MM, and NeurIPS. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
