Challenge
This large-scale civil infrastructure project involved approximately 7 hectares of site formation works, together with footbridge construction, access roads, drainage, sewerage, waterworks, and landscaping works. The project faced significant challenges in maintaining reliable communication and data transmission across two physically separated construction sites, particularly in a complex environment involving steep terrain and deep excavation areas. These conditions created difficulties for site-wide connectivity, real-time monitoring, and efficient digital management.
Solution
A customised Landlink wireless network solution was deployed to establish ultra-long-distance transmission between the two construction sites. Wireless base stations were fully wirelessly deployed to enable flexible installation, full-area network coverage, highly accurate positioning, and 24/7 connectivity. The dedicated network operated independently from nearby networks, provided over 200M bandwidth with low latency (<1 ms),="" and="" supported="" reliable="" data="" transmission="" for="" smart="" construction="" applications,="" even="" under="" challenging="" site="">1>.
Outcome
The project successfully established a stable and dedicated communications infrastructure to support smart construction operations across the site. The solution improved connectivity, enabled reliable real-time data transmission, strengthened digital site management capability, and provided a scalable network foundation to support multiple smart devices and operational scenarios. By overcoming challenging terrain and communication constraints, the project contributed to safer, smarter, and more efficient infrastructure construction.
