Challenge
Large-scale building construction projects face significant challenges in managing both personnel and mobile machinery, which directly affect project quality, safety, and efficiency. In this project, difficulties included limited real-time monitoring of workers’ locations and health conditions, inefficient management of mobile equipment, and safety risks associated with unsafe behaviors and hazard zones during site operations. These challenges created the need for an integrated digital solution to improve both safety management and operational control.
Solution
A customized 4S Solutions System was deployed and integrated into a Central Management Platform (CMP) to address these challenges. The solution combined a digitized tracking system, a digitized permit-to-work system, smart monitoring devices for workers, AI-powered safety monitoring, and unsafe behavior hazard alerts for mobile plant operation areas. Together, these technologies enabled real-time monitoring of workers and equipment, automated hazard detection, digital permit management, and centralized analysis and response to potential safety risks and operational abnormalities.
Outcome
The project significantly improved both safety performance and construction management efficiency. The integrated system streamlined permit processing, improved asset and equipment management efficiency by 50%, reduced hazard rates by 30%, enhanced occupational health outcomes by 40%, and supported the daily management of over 200 workers and site access operations. In addition, AI monitoring strengthened the detection of unsafe behaviours, contributing to a safer and more intelligent construction environment.
