Ms. Faye Kou, Speech Therapist
Ms. Faye Kou holds a Master of Arts degree in linguistics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She later received her Master of Speech Therapy from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and qualified as a speech therapist. Currently, Ms. Kou serves as Speech Therapist at the Speech Therapy Unit in the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, providing speech therapy assessment and treatment to individuals with communication disorders, including those with autistic spectrum disorders, developmental language disorders, intellectual disabilities and dyslexia. She is particularly interested in language disorders and treatment strategies in Chinese dyslexia, and had engaged in a project on recognizing and writing Chinese characters in Singapore. Ms. Kou had also been invited to various organizations in Hong Kong and mainland China, including kindergartens, welfare homes, nursing homes, day rehabilitation centres and hospitals, to deliver speech therapy and conduct professional training.
Ms. Kou is a Full Member of the Hong Kong Association of Speech Therapists.
Ms. Kou is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
