Biography

Dr. Zhenjia Lin obtained his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou, China. He was a Research Assistant at the Technical University of Denmark, Denmark, from 2019 to 2020, and at the Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institute, Tsinghua University, China, from 2021-2022. In 2022, He joined the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and served as a Research Associate at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and then as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering. Currently, he is a Research Assistant Professor, focusing on data-driven analytics, uncertainty optimization, and their applications in power and energy systems, as well as renewable energy integration.

Along with Prof. Jinyue Yan (Active Member of The European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences, and EiCs of multiple prestigious international journals), we are looking for excellent candidates as the postdoctoral fellows, research associates and Ph.D. students as part of the International Centre of Urban Energy Nexus. The targeted research areas include, but are not limited to:

• Data-driven Analytics and AI-based Techniques for Smart Grids
• Smart Energy Efficient and Grid-Interactive Buildings
• Demand-Side Management and Flexibility Enhancement
• EV Charging Characterization and Grid Impact Analysis
• Vehicle-to-Grid Integration for Grid Flexibility and Resilience

To be eligible for consideration as a postdoctoral fellow or Ph.D. student, it is required that applicants have received a degree from a top 200 university/institute in the world or have a related field of study that is ranked within the top 200. Exceptional candidates with sufficient research and publication research experience may be considered for admission, regardless of their institutional affiliation. For applicants from Mainland China, graduation from a 985 university/institute will be prioritized. Furthermore, we are interested in supporting PhD applications with other funding sources, e.g., industries, universities, or self-funded.
