Professor Li Hangxin

Assistant Professor

Biography

Prof. Hangxin Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She received her PhD from PolyU, and her MSc and BEng from Hunan University. Prof. Li’s research focuses on smart, energy-flexible, and energy-efficient buildings, building-power grid interaction, system and control optimization, and uncertainty analysis. Throughout her research career, she has published over 50 high-impact journal papers, and has served as principal investigator or co-investigator in several competitive research projects, including the RGC General Research Fund and the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission Major Carbon-Neutrality Fund. She also serves on the Young Editorial Board for Advances in Applied Energy.

Prof. Li’s research interests are closely aligned with industry needs. She has participated in multiple industrial consultancy projects, achieving significant energy savings. Prof. Li has established long-term partnerships with China Southern Power Grid and the Shenzhen Institute of Building Research Co., Ltd. As the key team member, she received the “President’s Awards 2021 – Team Award – Knowledge Transfer: Industry” for the achievements in smart life-cycle optimisation and diagnosis for building energy saving.
