Dr Wei was Elected as Vice President of the International CIE and Chairman of CIE Hong Kong
The Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering (BEEE) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is proud to announce that Dr Wei Minchen Tommy from BEEE has been elected as the Vice President of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) and the Chairman of CIE Hong Kong.
CIE is the world's primary standardization body in the field of color science and illuminating engineering. Its Hong Kong chapter aims to provide a forum for the study and advancement of matters related to light, including interior and exterior illumination, light sources and radiation, vision, photometry, colorimetry, and comfort.
Dr Wei's election to this prestigious position is a recognition of his expertise and dedication in the field of lighting. His contribution to the advancement of light and related subjects, as well as his participation in international lighting standardization and recommendations, will be of great significance to the industry.
Under Dr Wei's leadership, CIE Hong Kong will continue to provide a platform for the exchange of information on lighting and participate in the formulation of international lighting standards.
