Latest News and Achievements of APSS (Mar 2023 issue)

Prof. Eric CHUI, Head and Professor of the Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS), has been appointed to serve as a member the following committees: Sub-committee on Treatment and Rehabilitation, Action Committee Against Narcotics (ACAN) from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024. This sub-committee monitors the trend in the characteristics of drug abuse and drug persons, reviews the progress and effectiveness of government-funded treatment and rehabilitation programmes and advises ACAN on the development of treatment and rehabilitation facilities.

Dr Bryant HUI, Assistant Professor of APSS, has been nominated to serve as a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) under the category of “Co-opted members (with at least one member who is independent of the University/trial site).” His term of office is from 1 November 2022 to 30 June 2027.

Professor Eric CHUI has been appointed Co-Director of Policy Research Centre for Innovation and Technology (PReCIT) PolyU announced the establishment of the Policy Research Centre for Innovation and Technology (PReCIT) 科技及創新政策研究中心 on 1 May 2022 under the purview of Deputy President and Provost.
