On 30 March 2026, the Department of Applied Social Sciences (APSS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School of Philosophy and Sociology at Lanzhou University (LZU) to promote academic collaboration, knowledge sharing and student exchange between the two institutions.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Eric CHUI, Head of APSS, Co-Director of PReCIT, ADoRCESGA and Chair Professor of Social Work and Criminology and Prof. Ying WANG, Associate Dean of the School of Philosophy and Sociology at LZU. In addition, Prof. Eric CHUI delivered a seminar titled From Charity to Impact, which explored how the government, major philanthropic organisations, universities, and non-governmental organisations in Hong Kong are moving beyond traditional charity models to co‑design more systematic approaches that address the needs of children from low-income families.
