APSS and Department of Psychology at Sun Yat-sen University Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Research and Education

On 25 July 2026, APSS hosted a delegation from the Department of Psychology at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) to further institutional collaboration following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

Led by Prof. Bin ZUO, Head of Department of Psychology at SYSU, the delegation also included Prof. Guomei ZHOU (Professor) and Prof. Lu LIU (Associate Professor) from SYSU. They were received by Prof. Sylvia CHEN (Associate Dean of Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, Limin Professor in Social and Cultural Psychology, and Chair Professor of Social and Cultural Psychology), Prof. Xiangen HU (Director of Educational Research Centre and Chair Professor of Learning Sciences and Technologies), Prof. Huijing LU (Associate Professor), Prof. Yin WU (Associate Professor), Prof. Bryant HUI (Assistant Professor), Dr Melinna MEI (Research Assistant Professor), and Dr Karen KWAN (Research Assistant Professor) from APSS.

During the visit, the SYSU delegation toured the APSS CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) and Studio, and viewed demonstrations of immersive social science projects in Hong Kong. The two sides then discussed ways to strengthen collaboration in psychological research and education and to promote student exchanges between two institutes. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to a long-term partnership supporting innovation and mutual development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
