The event offered a meaningful opportunity to trace Hong Kong’s development over the decades and to explore the city’s advancements in energy and innovation through a unique historical lens. The visit began with a group photo at the iconic CLP clock tower, followed by a warm welcome at the “ElectriCity” exhibition. The group then embarked on a series of engaging guided tours. A major highlight was the “Immersive Experience” VR zone, where alumni travelled through a virtual electric cable to experience the journey towards a zero-carbon future. Other notable exhibits included rare artefacts such as a historical map of proposed railway lines and a custom-made Tai Ping carpet commemorating the 1997 Handover. These exhibits offered a fascinating link between the city’s growth and its energy story, enriching participants’ understanding of energy innovation and inspiring thoughtful discussions on the future of sustainable urban development. The tour was further enhanced by the presence of distinguished alumnus Ir Prof. Tsui Tack-kong, who has over 50 years of experience in the construction industry. Having worked for China Light & Power Co.
