Bridging Innovation and Heritage: HSITP and Historic San Tin Tour × Alumni Connect – Yuen Long

From the new landmark of the Northern Metropolis to a village with over 600 years of history, and to local culinary traditions, this unique journey offers a fresh perspective on the many facets of Hong Kong.

Jointly organised by the Alumni Culture and Heritage Club, Alumni Foodie Club and the newly established Alumni Tech Club under the Alumni Affairs Office, and in collaboration with the Federation of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Alumni Associations (FHKPUAA), this event includes a visit to the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP) to tour the Park's facilities and learn about the innovation landscape and development opportunities in the Northern Metropolis.

The journey then continues to historic San Tin. We are honoured to have Ir Prof. H.C. Man, Dean of Faculty of Engineering at PolyU, personally lead the tour. Having served as Village Head of Chau Tau Village for over two decades, Prof. Man will share the stories of this 600-year-old village from both an indigenous inhabitant's and a scholar's perspective. The tour covers Chau Tau Village, Tai Fu Tai Mansion, Man Lun Fung Ancestral Hall, Tung Shan Temple and Man Tin Cheung Park, offering insights into San Tin's rich cultural heritage and history.

Following the innovation and heritage tour, alumni are invited to join “Alumni Connect – Yuen Long” at Tai Wing Wah Restaurant, which has been featured in the Michelin Guide for 17 consecutive years. Guests will enjoy a traditional Hakka meal while reconnecting with fellow alumni, sharing experiences and expanding networks in a relaxed setting.
