Mr Joseph LAU Yui-yip
Head of Student Affairs, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader (Associate in Business – Logistics and Supply Chain Management), College of Professional and Continuing Education, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Dr Lau has demonstrated strong strategic leadership as Head of the Student Affairs Office (SAO) at the PolyU College of Professional and Continuing Education, consistently supporting the College’s commitment to holistic student development. Under his guidance, the SAO has spearheaded a wide range of initiatives across six key domains: (1) Contribution and Services, (2) Counselling Services, (3) Global Exposure, (4) Leadership and Future Skills, (5) Physical Wellness, and (6) Psychological Wellness. These efforts are designed to support students’ growth and equip them with the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to pursue their personal and professional goals and to contribute to society. Dr Lau’s impact is particularly evident in his ability to conceptualise and deliver student engagement initiatives that align with the College’s long-term priorities. Recognising the importance of a vibrant campus life, he has introduced a series of inclusive programmes – such as the Sustainable Fashion Show, Singing Contest, Chinese Culture Festival, and Across Life and Death Expo – that have enriched the student experience. These initiatives foster a lively and supportive campus atmosphere while offering students opportunities for personal development, creative expression, and community involvement.
