The 2026 JCAE Annual Symposium and Doctoral Consortium, jointly organised by the Journal, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Anhui University of Finance and Economics, was successfully held at the Swan Lake Hotel Hefei, Anhui from 8 to 10 January 2026.

The Theme
The theme of the 2026 JCAE Annual Symposium was “Current issues in accounting and economics research: implications for markets, organizations, and society”. Submissions were invited on a broad range of topics addressing opportunities and challenges in today’s rapidly evolving regulatory, technological, and economic environment. Key areas included:

• AI, Fintech, innovation
• Climate risk, biodiversity risk
• Corporate social responsibility, sustainable growth  
• Sustainability reporting
• Informed decision-making, effective resource allocation
