In Hong Kong, this programme is offered solely by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It is not offered cooperatively with an institution in mainland China and is not a Sino-Foreign (Mainland–Hong Kong) Cooperative Education Programme approved or recognised by the Ministry of Education (MoE) of the PRC. Programme Aims
The programme aims to provide degree graduates who would like to specialise in investment management, particularly those with no or little work experience, with a combination of solid financial concepts and up-to-date industry know-how.

The programme mode of study is full-time and the medium of instruction is Chinese supplemented with English.
Mode of Study & Duration

Students must complete 13 subjects, including 1 Academic Integrity and Ethics in Business, 6 Compulsory Subjects, 4 Elective Subjects and 2 Compulsory Capstone Subjects, total 37 credits.

A total of 37 credits are required for the Master of Finance (Investment Management) award.

The normal duration of study is 1 year.

Students can apply for a transfer of credit in the 4 relevant PolyU Institute for Executive Education in Qian Hai (PIEEQ) executive training subjects (or equivalent qualifications) upon admission to and official registration in this programme. No more than 4 subjects can be exempted (12 credits transferred in total). An application for credit transfer must be submitted before the end of the subject add/drop period during the first semester of the first year of study. If approved, a credit transfer fee of HK$145 per credit will be charged.

The entrance requirements for the programme are follows and suitable candidates may be invited to attend admission interviews.

A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, or equivalent; and

Completed all assessment requirements for the PIEEQ executive training courses; and

If the applicant is not a native speaker of English, and their Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is awarded by institutions where the medium of instruction is not English, they must pass an English written test organised by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University unless they have fulfilled the University's minimum English language requirement.

Applicants without the PIEEQ executive training qualification, but able to produce evidence of success in equivalent courses from their recognised previous studies, may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Student Visa, Accommodation and other Information for Non-local Students
Non-local students must obtain a valid student visa issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department before being allowed to register as students or commence study with PolyU.

HK$244,800 per programme (25 credits, HK$10,200 per credit), collected by PolyU during 2025/26 Semester Two stage for local and non-local students (excludes tuition fee for 4 executive training courses in PIEEQ). The 1-credit AIE subject is non-chargeable.
