The “Belt and Road Advanced Professional Development Programme in Power and Energy”, organised for the fourth consecutive year by the Silk Road International School of Engineering (SRISE) in partnership with power corporations from Mainland China and Hong Kong, was successfully completed in early November.

Since 2018, PolyU has been collaborating with the State Grid Corporation of China (State Grid), Hongkong Electric (HK Electric) and Xian Jiaotong University (XJTU) to organise this annual programme, providing training and networking opportunities for executives, professionals, officials and academics.

The theme of this year’s six-day programme was “Decarbonising the Smart Grid for Sustainable Living”. Despite not being able to pay visits and exchange ideas in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic, participants still managed to have fruitful online interactions with speakers and fellow participants on the latest industry knowledge. For the 2021 cohort, more than 250 participants from 25 countries/regions enrolled on the programme.
