理大舉辦「全球智慧城市峰會暨第四屆國際城市信息學大會」　發布2025年智慧城市指數

為期三天的會議邀得逾240位知名學者及資深業界人士分享他們對城市信息學和智慧城市的真知灼見和研究創新，預計將有逾600位來自世界各地學者和不同界別人士出席。活動邀得國際知名科學家作主題演講，並設政府和產業論壇、技術創新展覽，以促進「官產學研」在智慧城市領域的合作。

人工智能帶來的不確定性：地理信息科學先驅Michael GOODCHILD教授剖析過去、現在與未來發展

地理空間資訊的應用滲透城市規劃、環境管理、災害應變和交通運輸等多個領域，利用空間運算支援各行各業的決策。然而，空間及／或時間資訊的資料中的誤差、不精確性和複雜性可以影響空間數據和分析的質量和可靠性。美國加州大學聖塔芭芭拉分校地理系榮休傑出教授Michael GOODCHILD教授表示，隨著人工智能在地理空間（GIS）領域的應用越趨普遍，這不確定性問題或許會變得更為棘手。

RISA hosted Research Seminar- Molecular Endotyping of Osteoarthritis for Precision Medicine (只有英文版本)

由智齡研究院及香港理工大學生物醫學工程學系主辦的「骨關節炎的分子分型與精準醫療」研討會於2025年7月28日順利舉行。我們非常榮幸邀請到奧盧大學肌肉骨骼生物學教授Ali Mobasheri 教授擔任主講嘉賓，分享研究骨關節炎的心得。研討會吸引了不同專業背景的參加者。

RISA co-organized The 6th Focused Ultrasound Neuromodulation (FUN25) Conference (只有英文版本)

The 6th Focused Ultrasound Neuromodulation (FUN25) Conference, presented by the International Transcranial Ultrasonic Stimulation Safety and Standards Consortium (iTRUSST), hosted by the Department of Biomedical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU BME), co-organized by the Research Institute for Smart Ageing (RISA) and Zhuhai Society for Neuroscience took place on 9-11 July 2025 at PolyU. Through inspiring talks and exhibitions, FUN25 successfully connected global experts and industrial leaders to share insights on focused ultrasound neuromodulation.

RISE: World Fuel Cell Conference (只有英文版本)

This year, Hong Kong which is a cosmopolitan and energetic city, was selected to oragnise the WFCC 2025! The conference was chaired by Prof. Meng Ni, the Head of Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering and a member of the management committee of Research Institute for Smart Energy (RISE) of PolyU, and was co-chaired by Prof. Liang An (PolyU), Prof. Mengying Li (PolyU), Prof. Jian Wang (CityU), Prof. Weihong Li (CityU), Prof. Xianguo Li (University of Waterloo) and Prof. Jianbo Zhang (Tsinghua University). Miss Kate Fung served as the secretariat for the conference.

SCRI Distinguished Lecture on Domain-Specific Acceleration Targeting AI for Science (只有英文版本)

The Smart Cities Research Institute (SCRI) successfully hosted a Distinguished Lecture on 8 July 2025, focusing on the cutting-edge field of "Domain-Specific Acceleration Targeting AI for Science". The event featured the internationally renowned Professor Wayne Luk from Imperial College London, UK, drawing an engaged audience of over 60 participants.

邁向長時儲能未來：南方科技大學趙天壽教授談新型液流電池技術

南方科技大學機械與能源工程系講席教授、碳中和能源研究院院長趙天壽教授，於2025年7月4日在香港理工大學校園主講第41場理大高等研究院傑出學人講座，講題為「流體電池實現長時儲能」。是次講座吸引了逾90名參加者親臨出席，以及來自不同國家和地區超過15,400名線上觀眾通過社交媒體平台觀看直播。

探索納米技術新境界：裴有康教授解構微電子與環境健康應用

美國明尼蘇達大學裴有康教授於2025年6月13日主講理大高等研究院專題講座，講題為「納米粒子技術於微電子、空氣質素、健康和過濾領域的發展」。講座吸引逾60名參加者親臨出席，以及來自不同國家和地區超過13,100名線上觀眾通過社交媒體平台觀看直播。

探索力學前沿：清華大學高華健教授闡釋力交叉學創新

清華大學興華卓越講席教授、力學與工程交叉研究院院長高華健教授於2025年6月13日主講第40場理大高等研究院傑出學人講座，講題為「Mechano-X：力學前沿的交叉學科研究與創新」。是次講座吸引了逾130名參加者親臨出席，以及來自不同國家和地區超過14,000名線上觀眾通過社交媒體平台觀看直播。

土地及空間研究院公開講座: Advancing Computational and Spatial Social Sciences in the Era of Big Data: Opportunities and Challenges (只有英文版本)

The RILS Public Lecture, held on 11 June 2025 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), featured Prof. Yan LIU, Professor of Geographical Information Science at Department of Geography and Resource Management, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, who delivered an enlightening talk on "Advancing Computational and Spatial Social Sciences in the Era of Big Data: Opportunities and Challenges". The lecture was chaired by Prof. Qihao WENG, Associate Director of RILS, Director of RCAIG and Chair Professor of Geomatics and Artificial Intelligence. This successful event was jointly organised by the Research Institute for Land and Space (RILS), Department of Land Surveying and Geo-Informatics (LSGI), Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Geomatics (RCAIG), China Harbour – PolyU Joint Research Centre for Land Development, and PolyU-Yangjiang Laboratory Joint Research Centre for Offshore Wind Power of PolyU.
