PolyU and HKAABJU co-organise “Together with Scientists” thematic event, featuring talks by Nobel laureates sharing their cutting-edge research ideas

Dr Elizabeth LEE, HKAABJU President, accompanied Prof. Andre GEIM, 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics and Prof. Harvey James ALTER, 2020 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to the PolyU campus, where the two Nobel laureates shared their outstanding research outcomes and unique insights in their respective fields of research during their keynote presentations.

未來食品研究院協辦學術會議　論「健康中國2030」願景轉化為行動

理大未來食品研究院、食品科學及營養學系，與香港營養學會合作，於2024年12月14日在理大校園合辦「香港營養學會45週年學術會議」，吸引了超過120名來自內地、香港及澳門的學生、研究人員、業界專家和醫療專業人士參與。

RCRE: ReACT2024 successfully held (只有英文版本)

The 1st International Conference on Research and Application of Carbonation Technology for Wastes and Concrete (ReACT2024) was successfully held from 11 to 14 December 2024 on PolyU campus. The Conference was jointly organized by the Research Centre for Resources Engineering towards Carbon Neutrality (RCRE) and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) of PolyU together with the Solid Waste and Eco-material Subcommittee of the Chinese Ceramic Society. The Conference attracted more than 270 academics, researchers, industrial professionals, government officials and postgraduate students from all over the world, including Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mainland China, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, and United States.

RISUD, RILS: The 4th International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation successfully held (只有英文版本)

The 4th International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation cum the 14th South China Sea Tsunami Workshop were successfully held in Hong Kong from 29 November to 2 December 2024. This joint event was co-organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Sichuan University, Sun Yat-sen University, Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development (RISUD), Research Institute for Land and Space (RILS), and supported by IAHR-HK Chapter, IAHR-China Chapter and relevant government departments of Hong Kong SAR.

「理大高等研究院創科論壇」圓滿舉行

理大高等研究院於2024年10月19日「理大創科X校友日2024」成功舉辦壓軸活動「創科論壇」。在論壇上，研究院十八個轄下研究單位的代表，包括研究院院長和副院長，以及研究中心主任和副主任，介紹其研究單位及科研成果。論壇吸引了逾二百名參加者到場參與，以及超過28,800人次於世界各地透過嗶哩嗶哩、微信、微博及YouTube多個社交媒體平台觀看直播。

SCRI successfully hosts the Forum on the Low-Altitude Economy and Smart City Synergies (只有英文版本)

The Forum on the Low-Altitude Economy and Smart City Synergies, hosted by Otto Poon Charitable Foundation Smart Cities Research Institute (SCRI) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and co-organised by the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR), was successfully held on 9 August 2024 on PolyU campus, attracting 93 participants to join onsite and captivating an online viewing audience of over 24,000 to watch the live broadcast on Zoom and Keyanyun platforms.

The event reunites researchers and clinicians from around the globe, offering a platform to share and gain insights on the latest research in eye and vision health

土地及空間研究院：城市基礎設施的自然為本解決方案國際會議圓滿舉辦 (只有英文版本)

The International Conference on Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Infrastructure (NBSUI) was held at Chiang Chen Studio Theatre of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) from 25 to 26 April 2024. The Research Institute for Land and Space (RILS) was one of the co-organisers, and the conference had also received support from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Research Center for Artificial Intelligence in Geomatics, and Jockey Club STEM Lab of Earth Observations of PolyU. Prof. Yuhong WANG, member of RILS, and Prof. Qihao WENG, Associate Director of RILS, co-chaired the conference successfully.

RISA Symposium on Brain Ageing, Imaging and Stimulation (只有英文版本)

This symposium served not only as a showcase for the latest research and advancements but also as a catalyst for fostering meaningful discussions and collaborations. We are profoundly appreciative of the enthusiasm and expertise that the speakers and participants brought to the symposium. Their contributions are crucial in advancing our understanding of brain ageing and in the pursuit of innovative solutions. The connections and knowledge shared during this event have laid a strong foundation for future progress.
