2025 International Graduate Student Workshop on Geo-Informatics (IGWG)

The 2025 International Graduate Student Workshop on Geo-Informatics (IGWG 2025), jointly organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), Peking University (PKU) and Wuhan University (WHU), will be held on Saturday, 6 December, 2025 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration in Geo-informatics by providing an open and dynamic academic platform for postgraduate students and young scholars from around the world to share their cutting-edge research. Through presentations and discussions, participants can explore frontier topics, broaden their academic horizons, and strengthen scholarly connections and build professional networks. IGWG 2025 also serves as a stage to showcase the creativity, vitality, and academic excellence of the next generation of Geo-Informatics researchers. Since its inception in 2017 at Wuhan University, the IGWG series has been hosted in rotation by PolyU, PKU, and WHU. (Click here to view previous workshop report）

This year’s workshop will feature keynote addresses, presentations by graduate students and postdocs, and an outstanding report award competition. We cordially invite students and young scholars worldwide to participate and engage in face-to-face exchanges with peers and leading experts in the field.

1) Date & Venue

• 6 December, 2025 (Saturday) 09:00 to 17:00 at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

2) Target Participants

• Oral Presentation and Poster Presentation are open to PhD students, master students, and post-doctoral researchers in Geo-Informatics and related areas
• Suggested topics include, but are not limited to: Remote Sensing Analysis and Application, Photogrammetry, Geographic Information Systems and Service, Positioning and Navigation Services, Geodesy & Gravimetry, Spatial Networks and Communications, Spatial Data Analysis and Mining, Ubiquitous Mapping and Geospatial Artificial Intelligence
• Young scholars, researchers, postgraduate students and alumni are all welcome to attend

• Notification of acceptance will be sent by 20 November, 2025 (Thursday)
• The workshop is FREE of charge. Participants need to arrange their own catering and accommodation
