Mechano-Lingua Innovation Limited
The Innovative Conformal Accelerometry System for Swallowing Disorder Detection is a novel, non‑invasive solution designed to improve the diagnosis and monitoring of dysphagia. Using conformal multi‑channel accelerometers, the system accurately captures subtle throat and airway vibrations during swallowing. Advanced algorithms process these signals in real time to differentiate abnormal patterns, quantify swallowing intensity, and assess asymmetry. Compared with current hospital‑based methods, our device is portable, affordable, and suitable for frequent use in clinical and community settings. It addresses the gaps faced by therapists and patients: lack of portable monitoring tools, limited feedback for rehabilitation, and delays in early detection. By combining engineering innovation with clinical insight, this system aims to make swallowing disorder management more accessible, effective, and data‑driven—ultimately reducing the risks of malnutrition, aspiration, and healthcare costs while improving patient outcomes.
