The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Universities Tech Commercialisation Competition is now open for applications. Co-developed by the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone, this international innovation and entrepreneurship platform welcomes research teams from universities and institutes across Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao, as well as alumni who graduated within the last two years. We provide end-to-end support to help you bring your technology vision to reality.

🎯 Highlights of the Competition

Substantial Cash Awards, Immediate Disbursement

• Industry Leadership Award: RMB 50,000 (1 per category)
• Commercialisation Application Award: RMB 10,000 (3 per category)
• Innovation Potential Award: RMB 5,000 (6 per category)

Cash prizes are paid as a lump sum, with no requirement to set up a local entity.
In addition, projects that register and commence operations in Zhuhai High-Tech Zone before the end of 2027 may apply for an extra RMB 300,000 establishment grant.

Funding Incentives, Light-Asset Launch

• Housing Support: “One-Free, Two-Reduced” policy for young talent—first year rent-free, second year at 30% of market rate, third year at 50%
• Premises: Access to the 17,000㎡ Hong Kong–Macao Youth Innovation Dream Factory with customised facilities
• Equipment Subsidies: Up to 30% subsidy for equipment usage via the virtual laboratory platform, capped at RMB 200,000 per annum
• Sector-Specific Policies: Dedicated support for biomedicine & health, AI & robotics, semiconductors & integrated circuits, and the low-altitude economy

Showcase Your Work, Maximise Exposure

All participating Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) projects may win the chance to display their technologies at the Innovation Marketplace. A dedicated showcase area at the Marketplace will be reserved for PolyU's projects. On final pitching day, there will be a VIP tour, during which your project may be presented directly to government officials, investors, and corporate representatives.

📋 Eligibility Criteria

Participants:

• Research teams from universities and institutes in Hong Kong, Zhuhai, and Macao
• Current academic staff
• Undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral student teams
• Post-doctoral teams
• Alumni who graduated on or after 1 January 2024

Team Composition:

• At least one team leader plus two core members
• Projects from Hong Kong/Macao universities must include at least one Hong Kong/Macao national or student

Categories:

• Next-Generation Information Technology (AI, embodied intelligence, 6G, quantum technology, integrated circuits, etc.)
• Biomedicine and Health (medical devices, synthetic biology, nutritional products, etc.)
• Intelligent Manufacturing (smart equipment, industrial networks, etc.)
• Low-Altitude Economy (low-altitude manufacturing, operations, infrastructure, etc.)
