- BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology with Biotechnology

Studying for a BSc (Hons) in Applied Biology with Biotechnology at PolyU's Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology (ABCT) has been nothing short of transformative. When I first arrived, I focused solely on grades. It was ABCT's dedicated professors who opened my eyes to a broader vision of excellence.

With their guidance, I adopted an interdisciplinary approach, teaching myself programming and pursuing a minor in mathematics. Professors also connected me with invaluable opportunities, referring me to exchange programmes at the University of Waterloo and the University of Cambridge, and recommending me for a research placement at SickKids Hospital in Canada, where I discovered the excitement of scientific inquiry.

Beyond academics, ABCT's warm community inspired me to give back. I became a peer mentor and volunteered in the Hong Kong community. These experiences also contributed to my being selected as the Most Outstanding PolyU Student of 2025/26.

I am deeply grateful to the Faculty and ABCT for shaping who I am today.

在理大應用生物及化學科技學系（ABCT）攻讀應用生物兼生物科技（榮譽）理學士課程，對我而言是一段極具啟發性、改變人生的學習旅程。初入學時，我只專注於追求優異成績；幸得學系教授的啟發，我逐漸體會到「卓越」更深層的意義。

在教授的悉心指導下，我開始探索及學習跨學科課題，自學編程並副修數學。教授們亦鼓勵我把握機會，推薦我參加滑鐵盧大學及劍橋大學的交流計劃，更引薦我前往加拿大安大略省多倫多病童醫院（SickKids）進行科研實習，讓我在實驗室中親身體驗科學探索的魅力。

除了學術發展，ABCT溫暖的學習環境亦啟發我積極回饋社會。我因此成為了朋輩導師，並投身香港社區的義工服務。這些經歷亦讓我榮獲理大2025/26年度「最卓越學生獎」。

我衷心感謝學院及學系的栽培與支持，成就了今天的我。
