Ir Professor Edwin Cheng, Dean of PolyU Business School, is number 1 as contributor and collaborator, and ranks between 4 and 13 as individual that counts only single-authored output, in all the rankings used for “P-Rank 2022” of business research.

Professor Cheng’s co-authored paper, entitled “Consumer Inter-Product Showrooming and Information Service Provision in an Omni-Channel Supply Chain”, received the Decision Sciences Journal Best Paper Award at the Decision Sciences Institute 2021 Annual Conference. The award-winning paper is available at https://doi.org/10.1111/deci.12415.

P-Rank 2022 (Goel, 2022) presents the top 1,000 contributors, the top 1,000 collaborators, and the top 250 individuals in business research based on various rankings of publication output of scholars in the field of business studies. The rankings are based on the ABDC Journal Quality List, the CABS Academic Journal Guide, the ERIM Journal List, the FMS Journal Rating Guide, the list of the Handelsblatt BWL Ranking, the Hcéres liste des revues, Scimago Journal Ranks, and the VHB Jourqual 3 List. Different publication metrics are used to account for different ways to assess co-authored publications.

A case series developed by FB’s Faculty of Business Case Consortium (FBCC) has won second prize in the 2021 Global Contest for the Best China-focused Cases case writing competition hosted by the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).

The case series, Li and Fung: Stay Public or Go Private (A) and (B) was one of 16 prize winning submissions from 352 entries. Co-authored by Dr Justin Law, Director of the FB Case Consortium, Dr Li Jiang of the School of Accounting and Finance, Dr Anthony Pang of the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, and Prof. Shimin Chen of CEIBS, the case series has been accepted into the CEIBS global platform of China-focused cases studies at ChinaCases.org.

The contest seeks to identify and promote teaching cases with a focus on the Chinese business context from a global perspective. It rewards cases presented with high-quality, in-depth teaching notes that incorporate theoretical analyses and/or best practices.

Professor Michael Bond, Visiting Chair Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing, was recently recognised as the top-ranked Psychology scientist in China by Research.com, a major research website.

Professor Bond’s first place ranking was based on his track record of 276 published articles, which had received over 47,000 citations at the time the data was compared in December 2021. His h-index score of 95 was the highest among Psychology scholars based in China.

Research.com examined over 12,500 research profiles in the discipline of Psychology. In addition to Professor Bond’s number one ranking in China, he was also ranked 413th worldwide. This comfortably places him in the top 5% of researchers in his field.

Research.com provides a reliable list of leading scientists in a range of fields. Its rankings are based on a meticulous examination of data available on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph.

Professor Yuwei Jiang, Professor of Marketing in the Department of Management and Marketing, was recently recognised as one of the Top 50 Most Productive Marketing Scholars in the World. Dr Jiang’s achievement is based on the number of times he has been published in the ten-year period from 2012 to 2021 in the four premier marketing journals: Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, and Marketing Science, as calculated by the American Marketing Association. This is the most prestigious recognition of research productivity a marketing scholar can receive.

Dr Flora Gu has been selected as a winner of the 2022 Journal of Marketing Outstanding Reviewer Award. She was selected among more than 200 members of the journal’s Editorial Review Board who are experts in various domains of marketing.

The selection committee made the decision based on review workload and the constructiveness, thoroughness, and timeliness of review reports. Dr Gu was honored at the JM Editorial Review Board/AE meeting at the Summer AMA Academic Conference as one of 16 awardees. This award recognizes their service to the Journal of Marketing, and commitment to developing authors and advancing marketing knowledge. Her achievement is also listed on the new “Outstanding Reviewer” page on the Journal of Marketing website (https://www.ama.org/journal-of-marketing-outstanding-reviewers/) and has been posted on ELMAR as an announcement to the field and promoted in social media.
