Call for Nominations: Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business 2023

Faculty of Business (FB) is now inviting nominations for its Outstanding Alumni Award.

There are two types of award:

  1. Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business
  2. Outstanding Young Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business (for alumni aged 40 or under)

The Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business recognises distinguished FB graduates for great distinction in their chosen fields, active support to their alma mater, and for their impactful contributions to the wider community.

The Outstanding Alumni Award of PolyU Faculty of Business is part of the Outstanding PolyU Alumni Awards. Please see here for details.

Eligibility

Nominees for the Faculty Award must be recipients of the Department Award and must be graduates who have completed one of the following programmes offered at faculty level:

  • Doctor of Business Administration
  • Doctor of FinTech
  • Doctor of Management
  • Master of Business Administration
  • MSc in Business Management
  • MSc in China Business Studies

The following people can act as a proposer:

  • PolyU graduates
  • PolyU honorary graduates
  • PolyU university fellows
  • PolyU staff
  • Current PolyU Council and Court members
  • Current PolyU Advisory Committee members.

There is no limit to the number of nominations that each proposer can submit. However, the proposer cannot nominate himself/herself.

Award categories

Nominations must be made in ONE of the four award categories:

  • Outstanding Alumni Award in Professional Achievement of PolyU Faculty of Business
  • Outstanding Alumni Award in Entrepreneurial Achievement of PolyU Faculty of Business
  • Outstanding Alumni Award in Scholarly Achievement of PolyU Faculty of Business
  • Outstanding Alumni Award in Community Service Achievement of PolyU Faculty of Business

In addition to honouring distinguished graduates for their distinction in specific areas, the award recognises the alumni's active support to their alma mater. Support and Contribution to PolyU is one of the key nomination and selection criteria.

Details of four award categories are as follows:

Award Category Description
Professional Achievement This category recognises alumni who have attained distinguished achievements, demonstrated exemplary leadership and made a strong impact on their profession/industry/society.
Entrepreneurial Achievement This category recognises alumni who have demonstrated outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as founded or advanced business or technology ventures that have made a significant impact.
Scholarly Achievement This category recognises alumni scholars who have made notable scholarly or research contributions in their disciplines, with a proven track record and an excellent reputation in their field.
Community Service Achievement This category recognises alumni who have made impactful contributions to the community, or who have demonstrated an extraordinary level of commitment, volunteerism and/or philanthropy in promoting community well-being.

Selection Committee

A selection committee, comprising both internal and external members, will examine the nominations and assess candidates' qualifications and performance for the awards.

Submission of Nominations

The deadline for nominations is 31 May 2023 11:59PM HKT. Please download the form here and submit the nomination with all the required supplementary documents to virginia.sw.tse@polyu.edu.hk.
