Following the success of our 2024 competition, the PolyU Business School is thrilled to bring back the Technology in Business Case Competition in 2025. We’ve evolved based on your feedback from last year: this year’s competition offers two dynamic stages and welcomes you to join as an individual or as a team.

While our Stage 1 activities on 25 April saw over 60 participants immerse themselves in the transformative power of AI with insights from PolyU’s leading academics and industry experts, like Dr Eddie Hui, Digital Innovations Lead from Lenovo, you haven’t missed your chance to get involved.

Over 60 participants joined Stage 1 of Technology in Business Case Competition 2025.
Prof. Anthony Pang, Associate Head, Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies PolyU Business School and Scheme Leader of BBS (Hons) Scheme in Global Business and Logistics, Aviation, Maritime, and Supply Chain Management shared with the participants why PBS was keen to promote technology applications in business and provided an overview of the programme schemes offered.
Dr Eddie Hui, Digital Innovations Lead, Lenovo Services and Solutions Group, explained how AI was transforming customer experience and product innovations and enhancing smarter business outcomes.
Mr Andrew Keh, Sense Training, introduced popular AI tools and explained how they could be leveraged to produce outputs which required substantial effort to build in the past.
Participants experienced first-hand different AI tools, e.g. GPT, Replit and Cursor, to create business websites that addressed target customer needs.
Aims
The Competition aims to provide participants with:
A good understanding of the significance of business education in the digital age
Hands-on experience of using technologies to solve real-world business problems
An understanding of the disciplines of studies offered by the Faculty of Business, PolyU, properly known as PolyU Business School.

Meet with and learn from executives of a Fortune Global 500 company. In particular, they will:
Learn how to leverage technology advancements to solve a business challenge related to the company
Meet executive(s) from the local branch of the company
Develop a proposal for the company's business challenge and receive instant feedback
Join dedicated technology training
Win a cash prize
Eligibility
We encourage local and non-local students who are in the following years of studies in 2024/25 to join our Competition individually or in teams:
Secondary 4 or 5
Grade 10 or 11 (US System)
Year 11 or 12 (UK System)
Senior high school year 1 or 2 in the Chinese Mainland
Important note:
Eligible students can either join the Competition individually or in teams. Each student can only join one team, but schools can enter multiple teams without restrictions.
There are two stages of competition. Only those successfully complete all the tasks in Stage 1 can enter Stage 2. For contesting teams, all members must successfully complete all the tasks in Stage 1 in order for the teams concerned to enter Stage 2.
