As Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, Dr Cheng steers the city’s digital technology flagship, nurturing local talent and start-ups, attracting technology enterprises from Hong Kong, the Mainland and overseas, helping technology companies raise capital and expand in Hong Kong and overseas, and championing digital transformation across business and society. His deep knowledge of innovation and technology contributes to the growth of Hong Kong’s digital economy and its innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem.

Dr Cheng brings over 30 years of management experience in information technology and finance, enabling him to apply deep expertise to the planning and governance of large-scale I&T initiatives. Before joining Cyberport, he was Chief Information Officer of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, overseeing the group’s technology management in Hong Kong and the Asia–Pacific and driving the whole group’s digital transformation.

Beyond corporate leadership, Dr Cheng helps shape Hong Kong’s digital economy and technology ecosystem. Through public appointments across government, I&T, education and public bodies, he advises on policy, advances Hong Kong’s I&T industry and digital economy, and is committed to nurturing a new generation of local I&T talent.
