       Profile Update

  1. Why do I need to update My Profile?

    You are encouraged to keep your profile up to date to stay connected with PolyU and receive news about the latest development of the University as well as events, benefits and services offered to the alumni community.

    Upon signing in with your Alumni NetID or social account, you may view and update your personal information, including contact, career, education and interest. Alternatively, you may update your profile by filling in the blank form.

     

  2. How can I sign in with my Alumni NetID?

    If you are signing in for the first time, follow the steps below:

    a. Click the [Sign in with Alumni NetID] button.
    b. Sign in with your Alumni NetID and NetPassword.
    c. You will receive a verification email.
    d. Upon clicking the activation link in the verification email, you will be directed to the sign in page.  
    e. Your Alumni NetID will be pre-filled. Complete the process by entering your NetPassword. Then you may proceed to update your profile.  

    Thereafter, you can use your Alumni NetID to sign in and update your profile from time to time.

     

  3. How can I sign in with my social account?

    If you are signing in for the first time, follow the steps below:

    a. Select and click a social account icon on the Sign in page.
    b. You will be asked whether you have an Alumni NetID.   

    If YES, please sign in with your Alumni NetID first, then go to the [Manage Sign in] page and link to your social account(s). Thereafter, you can use your social account or Alumni NetID to sign in and update your profile from time to time.

    If NO, please fill in the blank form.

     

  4. In what circumstances should I use the blank form option?

    If you do not have an Alumni NetID or social account, you may use the blank form to update your profile.  Without signing in, you cannot review your personal records or apply your Alumni eCard.

     

  5. What if I have not received the verification email as mentioned in Q2?

    Please check the spam/ junk folder just in case the email got delivered there.

  6. What is Alumni NetID?

    NetID is a unique personal identifier and key to access the online systems of the University. 

    For PolyU alumni who graduated in 2011 or after, your Student NetID would automatically become Alumni NetID.

    For PolyU alumni who graduated before 2011 or Graduates of HKCC/ SPEED with PolyU award, please click here to register for Alumni NetID.


    If you have completed more than one degree in PolyU, you may have more than one NetID. Please contact the Alumni Affairs and Development Office at alumni@polyu.edu.hk to confirm which one is your Alumni NetID.

     

  7. What if I do not have an Alumni NetID?

    Please visit the Alumni NetID Registration webpage and follow the instructions to complete the registration process. Upon successful registration and receipt of your Alumni NetID, you will be able to use it to sign in “My Profile & eCard” by noon the following day.

  8. What if I have forgotten my Alumni NetID?

    For PolyU alumni graduated on and after 2011, your Student NetID would automatically become Alumni NetID.

    For PolyU alumni graduated before 2011 or HKCC/ SPEED alumni with PolyU award, please search your personal email with the keyword “Completion of NetID Registration” in the email subject to retrieve your Alumni NetID.

    For enquiries, please send email to alumni@polyu.edu.hk. You may be requested to provide your graduation certificate and identification documents for verification for retrieval of your Alumni NetID.

     

  9. What if I have forgotten my Alumni NetPassword?

    Please visit the Alumni NetPassword Reset webpage and follow the instructions to complete the password reset process.  

    If you use “PolyU Connect email account” as your personal email, please contact the Alumni Affairs and Development Office to reset your password. Please provide your personal details including your External Email, Surname, Given Name, Alumni NetID, and send the information to alumni@polyu.edu.hk

     

  10. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “The information you entered is not correct”?

    Please double check your personal details including your Surname, Given Name, Date of Birth and Personal ID, and make correction if necessary. For enquiries, please send email to alumni@polyu.edu.hk.

     

  11. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “According to our record, you have already registered an Alumni NetID before”? 

    For PolyU alumni graduated on and after 2011, your Student NetID would automatically become Alumni NetID.

    For PolyU alumni graduated before 2011 or HKCC/ SPEED alumni with PolyU Award, you may search your personal email with the keyword “Completion of NetID Registration” in the email subject to retrieve your Alumni NetID.

  12. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “Invalid Captcha”?

    Please refresh the Internet browser and input the verification text again.

     

  13. In the process of applying Alumni NetID, what if I see the error message of “Display Name has already been used by other users. Email Alias has already been used by other users.”?

    Please input another “Display Name” as it must comply with the rule “Display Name can only contain alphanumeric character, hyphen and space only.”  Your preferred email address is automatically generated based on your display name.

  14. What is PolyU Alumni eCard?

    PolyU Alumni eCard serves as a photo identification for PolyU graduate, with which you can gain access to campus and enjoy specified alumni privileges. 

     

  15. Who can apply for PolyU Alumni eCard?

    PolyU alumni can apply for Alumni eCard. All bona fide graduates who have successfully completed regular full-time or part-time programmes offered by PolyU, including its forerunners and constituent units, which led to academic awards accredited by the respective institution would automatically become PolyU alumni.  

    AADO reserves the right to approve or reject the application, and amend the rules and use of the Alumni eCard whenever deemed necessary without prior notice.

     

  16. What is the prerequisite for applying Alumni eCard?

    You should have your Alumni NetID ready.  If not, please complete the Alumni NetID Registration.

     

  17. How can I apply for my Alumni eCard?

    Please have your Alumni NetID ready.  Sign in “My Profile & eCard” to create your Alumni eCard - simply upload your digital photo and update your personal details.  Upon submission, you can view the eCard right away. Thereafter you can sign in the webpage and retrieve your eCard whenever necessary.
     

  18. How can I enter the campus with my Alumni eCard?

    When you are about to enter the campus, please sign in “My Profile & eCard” to retrieve your eCard. 

    You can follow the steps below:
    a. Present your eCard to the counter staff at the entrance. 
    b. Complete a Healthy Declaration Form.
    c. You can enter the campus upon checking.

    Your personal photo and the real-time display in your eCard serve as valid identification. Please do not capture or share your screenshot.

     
  19. How to quickly retrieve my Alumni eCard using mobile phone?

    You may pin your eCard to the home screen of your smartphone for quick access. Sign in “My Profile & eCard” and click the [View Alumni eCard] button to load your eCard. Follow the steps below to add your eCard to the home screen:

    Android phone
    a. Tap the menu button and tap “Add to Home Screen”. 
    b. You will be prompted to name the shortcut and tap the Add button.
    c. Then Chrome will add the shortcut icon to your home screen.

    iPhone
    a. Tap the “Share” button on the browser’s toolbar. The button is located on the bar at the bottom of the screen.  
    b. Tap the “Add to Home Screen” icon in the Share menu.
    c. You will be prompted to name the shortcut and tap the “Add” button.
    d. Then Safari will add the shortcut icon to your home screen.

    Thereafter, you can tap the shortcut icon anytime to retrieve your eCard. 

     
  20. How long does it take to get my Alumni eCard?

    Once you have successfully sign in “My Profile & eCard”, you can upload your photo and update your profile, then you can get your eCard right away.  Thereafter you can sign in the webpage to retrieve your eCard whenever necessary.  

     

  21. What are the privileges of Alumni eCard?

    By presenting your Alumni eCard, you can register at the campus entrance for access. You can enjoy discount on food & beverages as well as banquet services offered by Hotel ICON.  You may also use the Wong Tit Shing Alumni Common at the Alumni Atrium and apply for the Alumni Sports Facilities User Card.

  22. What if I have trouble in updating my profile or applying my Alumni eCard?

    Please contact the Alumni Affairs and Development Office at (852) 2766 4117 / 2766 4102 during office hours or send email to alumni@polyu.edu.hk.

     

  23. Which web browser should I use to access “My Profile & eCard”?

    Up-to-date versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge is recommended to improve your browsing experience.

      

  24. In addition to PC/ web browser, can I use other device such as mobile phone or tablet to access “My Profile & eCard”?

    You can use mobile phone or tablet with iOS or Android OS.
