Profiles of AF recipients

Mr Wu is a practising certified public accountant (CPA) with over 20 years of experience in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting. A graduate of PolyU’s School of Accounting and Finance (AF), since 2009 he has mentored AF students, helping them navigate their early careers. Mr Wu is the founder of PW CPA & Co., a Hong Kong-based firm known for its professional integrity. He has held key leadership roles in the accountancy field, including President of the Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors, and Chair of the World Chinese Accountants Consortium. He currently serves on the Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. As Founding President of the World Charity Society, Mr Wu promotes youth development, social inclusion, and ESG awareness. In 2024, his contributions to community service and professional excellence earned him the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Agency for Volunteer Service, and in 2025 he received the Outstanding Alumni Award from PolyU’s School of Accounting and Finance. Together, these awards recognise his commitment to community service and professional excellence.

Mr Lau is the Senior Regional Director of YF Life Insurance International Limited. He has been with the company since graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Services from PolyU, and has progressed steadily to his current leadership role. Alongside his professional responsibilities, Mr Lau holds several prestigious positions, including Prime President of the Hong Kong Industrial and Commercial Association Limited – Shatin Branch. He also serves as a Member of the Jieyang Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. As an engaged alumnus, Mr Lau has contributed to PolyU and the School of Accounting and Finance through internship opportunities, professional sharing, and financial support for  student development. His mentorship has had a lasting impact on countless students, many of whom have gone on to achieve notable success. His longstanding involvement with PolyU reflects his commitment to both professional excellence and community service.
