Ir Alex Choi Pong-chi, currently Senior Electronics Engineer in the Medical Device Division of the Department of Health, HKSAR Government, leads a team to implement the Medical Device Administrative Control System in Hong Kong. He is also in charge of handling public enquiries, engagement with stakeholders, and education and publicity in terms of the safe use of medical devices. Besides, he also serves as a committee member of the Biomedical Division of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), a training tutor under the Scheme A training programme of the HKIE, and a mentor of the HKIE mentorship scheme in the biomedical discipline. Prior to his appointment at the Department of Health, he had worked in the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department for over 10 years, responsible for supply, installation, procurement and maintenance of the medical devices and systems in public hospitals and clinics.
