Mr Leong, Senior Manager of Intertek Testing Services HK Limited, has made substantial contributions to the testing services industry, especially in the context of new technologies for IoT product testing and cyber-security certification services.
In 2015, he contributed to setting up the world’s first Qi extended / basic power wireless charging testing laboratory in Hong Kong. Qi extended power charging technology supports fast wireless charging for most ICT products and is the basis for high-power wireless charging for other devices, such as household appliances and electric vehicles.
Mr Leong also supported The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association in the establishment of LED Product Certification Scheme for LED Bulkhead, Flood-light, Downlight and Road-lighting, a Type 5 Certification Scheme that covers control on manufacturing process, materials purchase, production-line testing, end-product testing, and annual maintenance. It was adopted by the Hong Kong Housing Authority and Highways Department as official requirements in their tendering procedures for LED lighting procurement.
