16 Jan 2026

Co-organized by the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) and the Research Centre for Grid Modernization at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the 2026 conference marks a historic milestone: for the first time, the IEEE PES International Conference will be held outside North America, taking place in Hong Kong from January 18–21, 2026.

Why Hong Kong?

Focusing on the theme “Global Power & Energy Systems Resilience: Leveraging Collaborative Expertise,” the conference has already attracted over 1,000 attendees, including 10+ Academicians and 40+ IEEE Fellows from around the world. Hosted in Hong Kong—an international hub for finance, culture, and technology—the event aligns with both the Hong Kong’s strategic priorities and PolyU’s vision for a low-carbon, resilient, and smart energy future. Backed by proactive policies promoting sustainable development and innovation, Hong Kong offers an ideal platform for global dialogue, bridging East and West, academia and industry, while showcasing its remarkable technological advancements.
