Publication of two papers on Nature Communications by Prof. Gang Li’s research team

5 Apr 2024

Prof. Gang Li’s team published two papers on Nature Communications on 28 February and 2 March 2024, reporting research breakthroughs in the field of organic solar cells.

In the work “Rational molecular and device design enables organic solar cells approaching 20% efficiency”, they systematically investigated the design rules of guest molecules by theoretical simulations and successfully synthesized a new molecule, o-BTP-eC9, and achieved a record organic solar cell with 19.9% (19.5 certified) efficiency. The work is in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Science – Chongqing and the Taizhou University, Zhejiang.

The work “Efficient all-small-molecule organic solar
cells processed with non-halogen solvent, molecular design and control of molecular pre-aggregation has led to successful improvement of morphology in all-small-molecule organic solar cells with environmentally friendly non-halogen solvent processing. The work is in collaboration with the Huaqiao University, Xiamen and the City University of Hong Kong.

Both articles are featured in Nature Communications Editors’ Highlights webpage of recent research called “Devices” Editors' Highlights | Nature Communications. The two journal papers are available at the following links.
